Got an email from Tom Bilyeu… (one of my idols) he said… 92% of goals fail… not because you don’t have a plan… but because you have a fixed mindset which means unless it is growth focused… you are doomed to fail. He said in order to improve, you must fix the foundation aka your brain first.
I can’t help but reflect on over confidence vs. Self confidence. I have heard more than once, I have too much self confidence. Even in interviews. Which always surprises me. I tell them I am very self aware. I know my strengths and my weaknesses. I also know if I put my mind to it, I can achieve anything I want. (Yes, I could become a trades person). Alas, does it align with where I want to go and where I see myself? If the answer is no, then… I move on. More recently, a friend said he wanted to become a fireman and couldn’t see me become one. I told him I can do anything. I’d have to work my butt off getting fit… but I know it wouldn’t drive or fulfil me. So could I do it? Yes. Would I? No.
I truly believe that our potential is limitless and we set our own limitations. I can’t help but reflect the mindset of me vs. another person who recently lost their job.
Me: Do you have any mining experience?
Him: No. Do not apply for that job.
Me: ….
I can honestly say, I have applied for jobs way out of my experience and way out of my realm. And I have gotten them!
Mindset is everything!
Thoughts?
