Questions You Ask

More and more in life, I am learning the quality of the questions you ask are really impactful. I was on a phone call with a friend, and he told me, he was asking everyone what they thought of him. Everyone thought this question was weird.

He is in the phase of “finding his purpose in life.” So he got stuck in this loop of looking back and redefining who he is–when he already knows who he is but what he wants to do with his life.

I always go back to that 5 minute video of Simon Sinek when he asks his friends, NOT his family or partner, why they are friends. And you keep asking them “why” and “why” and then they come up with a powerful emotional response about how you make them feel. For Simon, it was “I feel inspired around you.” It brought tears to his eyes.

Remember, the quality of the questions you ask are very impactful indeed.
